OUR BELIEFS

What Guides Us

OUR MISSION:

CONNECT to Jesus in worship and faith.

CELEBRATE our relationships with Jesus and others.

SERVE our community by making followers of Jesus.

WHAT WE VALUE:

WHO ARE WE:

Peace Seymour is a Jackson County church, deeply rooted in the Word of God, that upholds Lutheran (LCMS) teachings. Offering weekly worship services and community ministries since 2005, Peace is located in Seymour, Indiana and strives to engage their community, offering grace and love to all.

COMMUNION

At Peace Seymour we get the opportunity to receive in this meal every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sunday of the month.

Have Questions?

For questions about Communion or for parents of children wishing to receive Communion (who have not yet received instruction about this meal), feel free to reach out to Pastor Alarik.

For further questions regarding Communion, check out the LCMS statement.

A couple of notes:

  • Non-alcoholic wine is offered in the middle section of the communion trays.

  • If you are not receiving communion, you’re still invited to come forward to receive a blessing. If you’re more comfortable staying seated, feel free to do that as well.

What do we believe about Communion?

We believe that in Communion, we receive Christ's body and blood with the bread and wine that he makes present in this meal, and we receive the forgiveness of sins. We also believe that receiving this meal with our community is a statement of unity in our faith.

As a way to honor what we believe and what you believe, we at Peace along with other churches in the LCMS, have a practice of only allowing those who are Christian and have received instruction about this meal and what we believe as a congregation to commune with us. We ask that if you are not yet a Christian, or have not received instruction about this meal at Peace or another LCMS church, that you would talk to Pastor Alarik before worship.

BAPTISM

“...be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off…” Acts 2:38-39

At Peace Seymour we baptize all ages, from infants to elderly. All of us, regardless of age, are in need of a relationship with God and are unable to establish one on our own. Baptism is the means by which God mysteriously and officially connects us to the forgiveness of Jesus and marks us a member of His family. Your journey with Jesus, young or old, begins in your baptism.
